I saw a video of a funeral Director who said that this was a compassionate move on Erika‘s part because when there is trauma related to the death of the person, like seeing Charlie getting shot (and all the blood etc) and killed, the best thing you can do is have an open casket and see the person at peace. This allows closure and also for the memory of the person to be something other than the violent death. It seems that Erika allowed the small window of his hands in the casket to be public so that the millions who were affected by his death could have some healing.
Since Charlie’s murder, my little church community in the middle of nowhere has rallied against the evil. It’s going to take all of us.
Also, from a practical standpoint, she probably had to use curlers in her hair to get it all bouncy and cute. I’m sure she has no energy to do that now. The bubbly and carefree may be gone for good, now that Charlie is gone and the rest that Now weighs on her shoulders
